Facing a Tight Space Challenge?
Blasting tight spaces can be a daunting task, but with the right tools and techniques, even the most challenging areas can be cleaned effectively. Let’s explore a real-world scenario where one of our customers tackled an incredibly tight space with precision and efficiency.
The Challenge: Blasting in Confined Spaces
Imagine looking down into a chamber that’s 12 feet deep with only about 30 inches in width. This chamber is just one of eight that extend side-by-side for 18 feet, each separated by walls with gaps as narrow as 8-10 inches. Now, add a cross pipe that needs to be blasted on its underside. This was the exact situation our customer faced.
Attempting to blast downward into the chamber and relying on ricocheting media particles to clean the area would be ineffective. Achieving a consistent clean profile across all surfaces, especially in such tight spaces, required a more strategic approach.
Take a look at these photos. This is from a real jobsite challenge one of our customers was facing. Everything you see in this photo needed to be blasted.
